Partnership Announcement
Published October 1, 2026
NUKU announces partnership with HEART.
NUKU Environmental is pleased to announce a partnership with HEART, strengthening our shared commitment to community resilience, animal readiness, emergency preparedness, and public education.
As NUKU expands programming at Nevada County Horsemen and continues building site-based learning opportunities, this partnership helps connect land stewardship, rural preparedness, animal evacuation awareness, and practical community support into a stronger public platform.
Animal Readiness
Preparedness for pets and livestock
Future programming can help community members better understand animal evacuation planning, emergency supplies, transport considerations, and readiness before fire or disaster events.
Community Resilience
Connecting safety, land, and people
The partnership supports NUKU’s broader work around fire-aware properties, land stewardship education, volunteer coordination, and practical community preparedness.
Site-Based Learning
Future education at NCHI
As NUKU develops programs at Nevada County Horsemen, HEART’s involvement adds an important animal-readiness and emergency-response education component.
Recent Progress
September work party with NCHI and HEART helped prepare the site for what comes next.
On September 25, 26, and 27, NUKU worked alongside NCHI and HEART during a multi-day work party focused on site cleanup, preparation, and early animal-readiness improvements at the Nevada County Horsemen property.
The effort helped establish temporary animal accommodations and supported significant cleanup across the property as the organizations continue working together toward larger facility improvements, future programming, and funding opportunities.
- Temporary animal accommodations were set up to support future readiness and programming needs.
- Volunteers and partner organizations helped clean and prepare key areas of the property.
- The work supports long-term goals around facility improvements, stewardship activity, and public-use upgrades.
- This progress strengthens future grant and funding conversations connected to resilience, animal readiness, and community benefit.
More To Come
NUKU will continue developing opportunities for public education and collaboration.
This partnership creates another step toward a stronger local network for preparedness, stewardship, animal readiness, and community resilience. Future details will be shared as programs, demonstrations, and events continue to develop.
